About the Farmer
Amos Mukobo Kazadi is an emerging farmer originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with a strong passion for sustainable agriculture, food security, and community empowerment. His farming work focuses on growing African crops that are culturally important and often difficult to find locally, including sorrel, African spinach, green eggplants, endives, and sweet potato leaves.
As an immigrant and community-oriented individual, Amos understands the challenges many underserved and immigrant communities face in accessing fresh, affordable, and culturally familiar foods. Through his farming project, he aims to produce nutritious African crops using environmentally responsible practices while strengthening cultural connection and community well-being.
His long-term vision is to build a farm that not only provides healthy food but also serves as a space for education, resilience, and cultural exchange. Amos is honored to be part of the Braiding Seeds community and looks forward to learning from fellow farmers, sharing knowledge, and building a sustainable and inclusive agricultural future.
